EU AMENDS SOME REGULATIONS ON LIMIT VALUE IN CERTAIN FOODS

August 1, 2022, The European Commission has issued Regulation no (EU) 2022/1346 and 2022/1343 amending Annexes II and III of the Regulations (EC) 396/2005 relating to maximum residue levels for 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene, 8-hydroxyquinoline, pinoxaden and valifenalate on and in certain products; and maximum residue levels of acequinocyl, chlorantraniliprole and emamectin on and in certain products.

The regulations apply to products such as fresh and frozen fruit, nuts, fresh and frozen vegetables, oils and oleaginous fruits, cereal, tea, coffee, herbal medicine, products of animal origin…

Regulation 396/2005 will continue to apply to products manufactured within the European Union or imported into the Union before 22 February 2023..

August 4, 2022, The European Commission has issued Regulation no (EU) 2022/1364 and 2022/1370 amending regulation EC 1881/2006 on maximum values ​​of hydrocyanic acid and Ochratoxin A in certain products.

The regulation applies to many products such as flaxseed, almond, apricot seeds, cassava root (fresh, peel), tapioca starch, cereal, dried fruit, roasted coffee, instant coffee, spice, dried herbs…

The above foods that were legally placed on the market before January 1, 2023 can still be sold on the market until their expiration date..
